One Page Profiles

When you become a parent, the world is full of new adventures. Having a vision for the future in mind is essential to making sure that your child remains at the center of decisions and their trajectory. One way to do that is by creating a One Page Profile for your child. Rather than focusing heavily on deficits, One Page Profiles celebrate your child’s strengths, gifts and talents, what works for them, and their hopes and dreams. One Page Profiles can be used almost anywhere, such as your child’s school, the doctor’s office, and your community of faith.

When creating a One Page Profile, be sure to include any important information about your child. Here are some examples of information you may want to include:

  • Age

  • Grade level

  • Some of your child’s favorite things

  • Your child’s strengths, passions, and special attributes

  • What works and doesn’t work for your child

  • Vision for the future and goals

It may even be a good idea to make more than one One Page Profile depending on what you will be using it for. The one you create for the classroom might look different than the one created for a recreational activity.

Take a look at the examples below to get ideas for your child’s One Page Profile.

Be sure to ask your child:

What are YOUR goals for the future?

What would YOU like to share?
