FACT Oregon Website Accessibility Statement
FACT Oregon is committed to providing an accessible website to the widest possible audience. We continually review options that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.
Standards Compliance
In keeping with our commitment to accessibility, we have designed our website’s standards to adhere to implementation of the regulations of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA and the Web Accessibility Initiative Accessible Rich Internet Applications Suite (WAI-ARIA) 1.0 techniques for web content
Text Attributes
We have selected fonts that are widely accepted by computer browsers, and display them in relative size so that users can magnify or reduce the font size (Ctrl + and Ctrl -, respectively) as needed.
Page titles are displayed in a larger font size than the rest of a page’s body for easy identification.
Colors
We use colors throughout the site that offer a high contrast to the white background. For example, links appear in dark green, while buttons typically feature a dark background with white text (or vice versa). Standard content, i.e., text that is not clickable, is shown in black.
Images
We rely on the use of images to convey information or showcase FACT Oregon’s families, partners, and services. All of the images used on this site include alternative text that describe the image. If you encounter an image that does not include alt text please email alison@factoregon.org.
Navigation
In addition to the drop-down menu, each page includes a clickable feature at the bottom of the page to make it easier for people relying on keystroke navigation to get where they wish to go. Our top menu bar can be navigated using a mouse, keyboard, and/or touch screen.
PDF Documents
If you rely on a screen reader, screen magnifier, or similar program, you may need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print PDF files. We rely on PDF’s to preserve the formatting and content of our publications and those of our partners. For details on how PDF files can be translated to text for screen readers, visit access.adobe.com, Adobe Reader Accessibility, and Acrobat DC. If you encounter a PDF that is not accessible, please reach out to alison@factoregon.org
Non-FACT Websites
Our website may contain links to websites of other non-profit or government entities. These links are intended to be resources only, and are not part of FACT Oregon’s services or programs. FACT Oregon is not responsible for the accessibility or content of these third party resources.
