Join FACT Oregon for this free training series. Participants will: learn more about how to share your child's strengths with educators and school teams, explore the transition from early childhood special education services (ECSE) to kindergarten, walk through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) section by section, understand school discipline and the IEP, and have an opportunity to join FACT Oregon to get all your questions answered about special education services! Pick and choose the sessions you want OR attend all five!
Session one: Charting your Course: One Page Profiles

Create an individualized strength-based tool that introduces your child at school! A one-page profile is a great way to share information about your child that you have learned as their number one fan and advocate!
Session two: Transition to Kindergarten
November 2nd 5:30pm-8:00pm
Kindergarten is a new adventure for families! Learn about the transition process, your important role on the team and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
Session three: Special Education and the IEP: What You Need to Know
November 9th 5:30pm-8:00pm
The Individualized Education Program (IEP) describes your child's special education needs and services. Attendees will learn more about the Individuals with Education Act (IDEA), walk through the IEP section by section, and be empowered to partner with school teams to achieve school success!
Session four: Behavior and the IEP: Support, Strategies, and Success
November 16th 5:30pm-8:00pm
During this session participants will learn what behavior is, how to address behavior in the IEP, and ways to request assessments and support plans. Participants will also hear more about school discipline in Oregon and how to meaningfully engage and participate when behavior is a concern at school.
Session five: Open Discussion and Q&A Session
November 23rd 5:30-8:00pm
